PDF Pattern Nesting
Upload your pattern PDF and we'll detect the pieces, let you set quantities and fold, then calculate the tightest layout on your fabric — automatically.
How it works
The tool reads the vector drawing commands in your PDF to identify pattern pieces — large closed shapes with text labels. You review the detected pieces, set the cut quantity for each (e.g., "Sleeve × 2"), mark which are cut on fold, and choose your fabric width.
The nesting algorithm then packs all pieces into the tightest layout using a Bottom-Left Fill heuristic — the same family of algorithms used by industrial nesting software.
Manual vs. PDF nesting
You can also use the manual nesting tool where you type in piece dimensions yourself. The PDF version saves that step by reading dimensions directly from the pattern file.
For best results, upload the plotter/A0 version of your pattern. Tiled (multi-page) PDFs need to be retiled into a single page first.
Privacy
Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser — it never leaves your computer. The piece detection and nesting algorithms run client-side using JavaScript.
