Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2, 2026

Dart Sewing Tools ("Dart," "we," "us," or "our") operates dartsewing.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Data That Stays on Your Device

Most of our sewing tools run entirely in your browser. Your body measurements, fitting profiles, fabric stash, and project data are stored in your browser's local storage by default and are never sent to our servers unless you are signed in and explicitly using synced features (e.g., Workshop). You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

2. Account Data

When you create an account or sign in, we use Clerk as our authentication provider. Depending on how you sign up, Clerk may collect:

  • Email address
  • First and last name
  • Profile picture (if signing in via Google or another OAuth provider)

We do not store your password. Clerk manages authentication and session tokens on our behalf. See Clerk's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.

3. Google Account Data

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this information solely to create and manage your Dart account. We do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, or any other Google services. We do not share your Google account data with third parties except as described in this policy.

4. Community & Marketplace Data

When you use community features, we store the following in our database:

  • Forum: Your display name, thread titles, post content, and timestamps
  • Marketplace: Listing details (title, description, price, category, condition, location), seller profile information, messages between buyers and sellers, reviews, and uploaded photos

Forum posts and marketplace listings are publicly visible. Messages between buyers and sellers are private to the participants. Photos uploaded to marketplace listings are stored on Vercel Blob storage.

5. Payment Data

Premium subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy. When you purchase a subscription, Lemon Squeezy collects your payment information (credit card, billing address, etc.) directly. We do not see or store your full payment details. We store only your subscription status, plan type, and Lemon Squeezy customer/order IDs to manage your premium access. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy for details.

6. Email & Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is sent to Resend, our email service provider. We use your email only to send updates about Dart. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We do not sell or share your email with other parties.

7. Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage data including page views, session duration, and Web Vitals performance metrics. This data does not include personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve site performance and understand which tools are most useful.

8. Cookies

Dart uses essential cookies for authentication (managed by Clerk) to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics may use a cookie or similar technology for anonymous session tracking.

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management
  • Lemon Squeezy — payment processing (premium subscribers only)
  • Resend — email delivery (newsletter subscribers only)
  • Vercel — hosting, analytics, and image storage
  • Cloudflare — database hosting for community and workshop data

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your local data (measurements, fitting profiles, fabric stash, projects) at any time by clearing your browser's local storage. To delete your account and all associated server-side data (forum posts, marketplace listings, subscription records), please contact us and we will process your request within 30 days.

11. Children's Privacy

Dart is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
